What a week it has been so far! It all started on Monday when Mrs. Zavala and our wonderful PTO volunteers set up the beautiful book fair. Then Tuesday night we celebrated literacy here at Westwood by inviting our families to school to have pizza, enjoy the book fair and learn different reading strategies from our wonderful teachers. The turnout was AMAZING!!! Since our Media Center is hosting the book fair this week, I have been going into classrooms and introducing a new Texas 2x2 book called We Forgot Brock! It is about a little boy who has an imaginary friend who gets lost. The students are listening to the story and then using the App Feltboard to create their very own imaginary friend. They have been so creative and have had so much fun! Don't forget next week is Red Ribbon Week. We will be celebrating with a different color every day. Check out the Westwood website or Facebook page to see which colors are which day. And remember next Friday, October 28th is our Pumpkin Parties!
